Environmental
Site Assessment
In
support of property transfers,
EHS-Alaska, Inc. performs Phase 1
and 2 Environmental Site Assessments (ESA)
to determine whether the land, water, or
buildings are contaminated. Our
environmental staff adheres to the
American Society for Testing and Materials
(ASTM) standards for conducting
environmental investigations.
A Phase 1 ESA is a recommended action that
a buyer can take to learn about the
property's history, its site's and
adjoining sites' environmental conditions,
and whether or not hazardous substances
exist. During a Phase 1 ESA we investigate
properties to determine liability issues
by:
Reviewing
site records,
Performing
site visit and
inspection,
Conducting
local interviews and
investigation, and
Reporting
During a Phase 2 ESA, we determine the
level of potential hazards by the sampling
and laboratory analysis of identified
hazards such as:
Building
materials,
Chemicals,
Indoor
air, soils,
Ground
water,
Surface
water, and
Ambient
air.
EHS-Alaska, Inc. provides professional
support for Phase 1 and 2 ESA clients by
following the guidance of the
Comprehensive Environmental Response,
Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980
(CERCLA) and the Resource Conservation and
Recovery Act's (RCRA's) Corrective Action
Program. We are experienced in performing
Environmental Site Assessments as either a
