Parents Threaten to ‘Occupy’ School

Angry parents at a Cobble Hill public school are planning to occupy the building if the city doesn’t put off plans to clear asbestos from the property until the summer.

At least 10 parents at Public School 29 on Henry St. are gearing up for a sit-in at the school when work crews show up to start removing asbestos from the building on Friday.

And they aren’t budging – even if it means getting arrested.

“The parents are willing to do anything they can to keep their children healthy,” said Cobble Hill dad Julian Stysis.
