Bio
Martin K. Schwan is a practicing Industrial Hygienist conducting hazmat surveys, exposure studies, and IAQ and Mold assessments throughout the State of Alaska. Martin a member of the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) and serves on their conference technical Committee. He has been selected as a presenter at the National IAQA conference in January of 2018. His talk is entitled, “Uniquely Alaska: Indoor Air Quality Challenges in the Last Frontier.”

Martins is also an experienced chemist. He has worked as a research chemist for 3M and Scientific Materials. He also has worked for the Municipality of Anchorage for twelve years. During this times he carried out duties as a certified plans examiner in the Building Department, He was also a Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, and Fire Marshall with the Anchorage Fire Department.

Martin is former president, and current board member of the local chapter of the International Code Committee (ICC). He is also currently on the ASTMD37 Cannabis committee. He continues to be involved in the development of building and fire codes for the state of Alaska.
